You Are Important!      

The Scituate Food Pantry Needs Your Help! Our Hearts Belong to You!

Under the direction of our incredible art teacher, Mrs. Davis, we are collecting and accepting food donations for the Scituate Food Pantry, collaborating with the Cushing PTO and the Cushing staff. We are accepting donations through Friday, February 17th.

The food pantry is need of the following:

Herbal teas, instant decaf coffee, canned fish, mayonnaise, microwave popcorn, hot chocolate, beef soups, toilet paper, canned hams.

Thank you to the Cushing family! There are boxes in the front hall and the Art Room.

Kindergarten Registration For the Class of 2036!

Kindergarten Registration opens February 9th at 9:00 AM for the incoming class of 2036!

The Scituate Elementary Principals (Tracy Riordan, Wampatuck; Julie Ward, Hatherly; Mary Oldach, Jenkins and Scott Williams, Cushing) welcomed incoming Kindergarten families for orientation on Tuesday, February 7th at 6:00 PM at the Performing Arts Center at Scituate High School.   

Kindergarten Celebrates 100th Day!

February 9th is the 100th Day of School!  Students in Kindergarten celebrated with posters, or bringing in 100 objects from home!  We cannot believe we’ve been in school for 100 days! 

Welcome Pamela Galligan!

We are thrilled to have Pam Galligan join the Cushing team as our new cafeteria hostess, effective this week!  Ms. Galligan is helping us out with all of our cafeteria lunches, Monday - Friday!  Welcome to Cushing, Ms. Galligan! 

Cushing MCAS Testing Dates:

Parents of 3rd, 4th and 5th Graders:  Please mark your calendars for important MCAS testing dates, as follows:

It is important for children to get a good night’s sleep, eat a healthy breakfast and drink plenty of water during test administration!  Scheduling family vacations is strongly discouraged during this important testing window.  We appreciate your support! 

Upcoming Important Days at Cushing: 

  • Thursday, February 9th: Kindergarten Registration Opens
  • Thursday, February 9th: Early Release, 12:35
  • Thursday, February 9th: Cushing Elementary “Scoop A Thon,” Nona’s, 4:00 PM
  • Friday, February 10th: Twin/Triplet Day:  Dress up as “twins” or “triplets.”
  • Friday, February 17th: Crazy Hair Day:  Get out the hair gel and style your hair!
  • Monday, February 20th - Friday, February 24th: NO SCHOOL (VACATION WEEK)
