6th Grade Students Apply the Engineering Design Process

Sixth grade students in Ms. Levirne's STEAM Lab learn about the engineering design process (EDP) by designing board games that meet certain criteria. Students design and build prototypes of their designs as visual representations of their solutions. During this challenge students must consider what materials would be best suited to various purposes (the board, the game pieces, other possible components) and how to best communicate their design solution. Many students are able to access our 3D printers and other tools as they create their prototypes and are excited to try out their new games.
