Planning a Vacation? Geography Projects

To start the unit on Central America and the Caribbean, 7th Grade Geography students worked as travel agents to persuade classmates to visit a country they researched.  Students brainstormed what a family might want to do on vacation, then researched topics including national parks, recreational opportunities, historical and cultural sites, festivals and delicious local foods. 

Their final step was to learn how to use Canva, a site that lets them integrate images and information to create a slick three column two sided brochure. Given the differences in climate, if a family visited one of these countries, it might be a long time before they came back!
